Batch 2's last day

Today was the kittens' last day with us. I took them off to the vet today so that Kosmo could be fixed (poor little guy) and the brothers, Sylvester & Simon, could wait to be picked up and go off to their next foster home.

It was very sad! I'll miss those little guys. I'll miss Sylvester most, mostly because he came so far in the short time we had him. He was really grumpy at first, but he was just pretending he didn't like snuggles and pets. Last night he was purring up a storm in my lap and being adorable. I know James will miss Simon the most, he loved how sweet and lovey Simon was. He would let James know he wanted attention by gently pawing at James' leg until he picked him up. So polite! Kosmo was a handful, but I know he'll get adopted out easily - he's a bundle of energy, sociable, and extremely playful, not to mention he's really cute with his grey eyes matching his fur. I hope the brothers will do okay getting adopted, Simon is so sweet so I think he'll be fine, but Sylvester takes a while to warm up. I'll just keep my fingers crossed! He's so pretty and soft, he may be able to get by on looks alone :)

I got some cute pics of them last night, so I'll post them below as usual. Some of the first ones are Simon getting a bath. He hated it, but he make a mess of himself so it had to be done. He made it through, luckily.

Days 5 & 6

The kittens will be going back to the rescue on Wednesday! Not enough time with these little cuties. I wish I could have more time with Sylvester, he's doing better each day. It's really slow going, but going up - I want to get him to a point where he is happier to see people, rather than apathetic or nervous. We'll see what we can do in another three days, though.

Poor Kosmo will be getting fixed on Wednesday, but at least that means he'll soon be adoptable! He'll have no problems at all getting adopted, he's so crazy energetic and playful. He's also really pretty, which is to his favor, as well. His eyes are such a pretty grey! They match his fur.

Every time we give the brothers their medicine they try to froth it out or something. I have no idea. But they get all frothy and slobbery for a few minutes afterward. It's really gross, but also weirdly adorable. Even Simon, who's normally really cuddly, gets super grumpy and makes mad faces at us after medicine time. Poor guys. It must really taste awful. I try to get it in the back of their throats in the hopes that they won't taste it, but it never really works as well as I hope. Oh well. Today when we gave them medicine, Sylvester was crying. It made me so sad :(

Day 4: Kitten Katastrophe

This morning there was poop everywhere in the kittens' bathroom. That definitely woke me up! Lots of cleaning while the kittens ate their breakfast. I was told before that fostering kittens meant cleaning up poop frequently, and it's definitely true!!! But that's okay, they're cute enough that I get over it quickly.

Last night after I posted we got some much better pictures of Sylvester, thankfully. The last batch of pictures were pretty lame. When we came into the kitten room to play, all three were snuggled up together on top of the crate. It made for great pictures! They're such sweeties.

Sylvester was snugglier last night. He pretended to be grumpy for a minute, but then was really snuggly. Simon kept wanted to snuggle too, so it was a snuggle-fest basically. Kosmo kept jumping all over the other two kittens though, he wanted to play and didn't know why the tuxedo brothers kept ignoring him. James is good at keeping him entertained though, and he'll put Kosmo on his shoulder so he can be super high up, which he loves.

When it came to my lunch break today, things were even better! Sylvester didn't get grumpy when I picked him up, and even purred at me while I was petting him. Success! Simon wanted in on the action too, so he kept trying to get in my lap for pets, but Kosmo kept knocking him off. I basically had all three kittens on my lap: Sylvester snuggling me, Simon trying to get pets, and Kosmo rough housing all over the place and knocking over Simon or ending up on top of the other two. It was crazy. I wish I could have lots of kittens in my lap all the time! 

James' sister came over to play with the kittens too! Kosmo liked having someone new to climb all over. He seems to be everyone's favorite. Sylvester's my favorite of this batch, I think his grumpy face is way too endearing.
